In October 2024 “Out of the Fold” is exhibiting at the Quay Gallery, Snape Maltings and I am looking forward to participating.
I shall be showing three pieces in the primary colours inspired by Modigliani’s “Caryatid” sketch at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts in Norwich.

I find the face fascinating.
I enjoy working with woolen fabrics, needle felting and gold work techniques, so, for me, it was natural to dye wool flannel and gauze in the three primary colours and proceed from there.
I’ve used acid dyes, commercial threads from Paint Box Threads, and assorted metal threads in light gold, blue and red. Sequins have been cut from leather.
The blue face is taken from “Caryatid”, the others from Romano-Greek statuary.
The embroideries have been framed in large, deep white frames.
The group project is “CUBES”.
I’ve made some dice with leather spots in complementary colours (thanks go to http://www.abbeytops.co.uk).
